"Resolvins and their Role in the Resolution of Inflammation & Beyond"

 

Dr. Serhan will review the elucidation and functions of the novel pro-resolving lipid mediators uncovered with his research team and present evidence for their functions in stimulating the endogenous mechanisms to resolve inflammation that impacts many diseases from depression to cancer. Their biosynthesis from polyunsaturated essential fatty acid and specific receptors on human phagocytes will be discussed.

 

All lectures will be in the Freeman Auditorium (930 Madison Avenue, 3rd Floor). Light refreshments served.
