A little more about the Southern Medical Association ---- and visit SMA.org

Southern Medical Association is a different type of association. It's been that way since we began in 1906.

Instead of basing, our mission on political interests, we base it on education. Our members are given a platform built on scientific evidence, not political agenda.

The members of the Southern Medical Association are leaders. They are teachers. They are mentors. They are scientists. They are researchers...All willing to share their experiences, their knowledge, their resources, and their research with the next generation of medical professionals.

SMA Members are the ones making a difference in their departments, in their hospitals, and ultimately in their communities, and in the world. from our physicians all the way to our medical students in training, our members realize that at the center of medicine should be people. The patients.

Our members have a calling. That calling drives them to approach every day in their profession, as an opportunity to create better care for patients and a more efficient and transparent environment with everyone on their team. The members of the Southern Medical Association are others-centered. And no matter their specialty, they are united with their co-workers, and with the family of medicine through education and relationships.
