About this Event
875 Monroe Avenue, Memphis, TN 38163
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to commemorate this the Office of Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity will be hosting a Take A Stand Reception on Thursday, October 6, at 10:00 am in the Mooney Library. Hear information on domestic violence from on and off campus resources like: Captain Joanne Morrow of Campus Police; Michelle "Miki" Sisco-Sankrityayan from the Office of Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity; and Sandy Bromley from the Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center.
Breakfast will be catered! First come, first serve!
We also encourage you to make a fashion statement that says something: wear something purple in honor of survivors! Tee shirts, masks, scarves, totes, bandanas, eye/nail color, signage – the only limit is your imagination! Post photos of yourself in your purple gear and a message of support for survivors using #PurpleThursday.
