Telemedicine 2.0 – Teleophthalmology; Using Remote Retinal Screening

Activity Overview: This activity is an annual Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP) lecture where faculty and residents from the UTHSC Department of Ophthalmology gain knowledge on a vision related topic from a physician who is a national expert in the specialty of Ophthalmology.  Thomas C. Lee, MD from the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will be the keynote speaker.  Teleophthalmology – Using Remote Retinal Screening will be the topic of Dr. Lee’s presentation, Telemedicine 2.0.

 

Objectives:

  • A better understanding of remote retinal screening and telehealth with reference to retinal disease
  • Improved skills and abilities as to how to incorporate retinal screenings and telehealth into practice
  • Improved medical practice and performance for interpreting retinal screenings
  • Better patient outcomes by increasing the access to remote retinal screening for patients with retinal disease

Accreditation: The UTCOM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
