CEC Conversation on Health Disparities: Memphis Food Systems at Online - Through Zoom

Wednesday, January 20, 2021

A lifestyle of healthy foods and exercise can help prevent the onset of chronic health conditions. However, millions of Americans have limited access to nutritious foods that promote a healthy lifestyle. Factors such as income, transportation, distance, and lack of cooking equipment contribute to limited access. Kimberly Kasper, PhD (Rhodes College) and Mia Madison (Memphis Tilth) will discuss the Memphis food system, its challenges, and their approaches to sustainable solutions to food insecurity.

Event is open at all UTHSC students, faculty, and staff. Please RSVP via UTHSC Engage. Attendance counts toward Social Determinants of Health Co-Curricular Certificate. For more information, visit https://www.uthsc.edu/sace/qep/sdoh-certificate.php.
